Fight Night Featuring Mohammed
by Unknown on

As a black man it's hard to be successful and there are some that choose to fight to be this way. Even if it means being by themselves they choose to follow a path that leads them to the destiny that they want to create. It is this that keeps them pushing forward. The fighter is in the light of the beholder and will not stop a nothing till they reach greatness. Remember, life will try to push you down, steal your dreams and talk you into settling for mediocrity. But I want you to have this new attitude: what You started in your life, You are going to finish. The real question is: Will you keep believing even though it looks impossible? Will you stay in faith even though every voice tells you that it’s not going to happen? Will you hold on to the promise in you? A promise to fight like "Fight Night."

Self Reflect "I've Fallen"
by Unknown on

Words cant express the way that I feel.
No matter how much
try to bite my tounge
I can't seem to not fall for you.
Your smile
lights up your eyes
I adore your personality
and this is probably
really corny
but
can't help
it
I said I wouldn't let myself get like this
well it
happened
and
the fact that it has happened
I don't want it to stop.
I am not affectionate not good with expressing how I feel
but
When I like someone alot
its hard not to
and
I am sorry,
well
why am I sorry for feeling like this?

 What's a girl to do?

I feel like something starting,
Starting playing in my head
And its beating loud
I feel like something starting,
starting walking on the edge
'Til we're crashing down
Hit me so hard I don't know where
Starstruck up in the air
Got me got me with my eyes wide open
If you tell me no I'm not giving up no

The girl with the dream never gets
her happy ending.

Styling With Sheila J "Freaks and Geeks"
by Unknown on

“Nerd. Geek. Used to be if you self-identified that way, you'd get thrown into a locker and never have sex. Or worse, whatever that is. But to me and more and more people I know, being a nerd or a geek means having passion, power, intelligence. Being a nerd just means there is something in the world that you care deeply about—be it twelve-sided dice, a favorite sports team, your new laptop or Night Rider.”
“She sighed. Loudly. "Physical appearance is not what is important."
Yeah right. Tell that to any girl who hasn't bothered to put on a presentable shirt or fix her hair because she's only running into the grocery store to get a quart of milk for her grandmother, and who does she see tending the 7-ITEMS-OR-LESS cash register but the guy of her dreams, except she can't even say hi—much less try to develop a meaningful relationship—since she looks like the poster child for the terminally geeky.”

I figured for my first blog I would start off thanking NYC model Shelia for inviting me & having me apart of this site to blog about beauty. When she first messaged me the other day  I felt so honored and then I started thinking about what I could say not only to industry and future professionals;but also to the everyday people who are wanting to no whats hot now or even just tips of Do's & Don'ts  with also staying up to date with the current international trends seen in magazine and online.

Always remember  if your not a professional and you don't know or are unsure of something don't be afraid to ask a Beauty Professional. For all my fellow industry artist out there stay current with the current trends  with staying inspired with your passion by spending 15 mins a day looking at pictures weather its the color of natures animals and sea creatures or runway shows in Europe, attend continuing educational classes for the upcoming trends for cutting and coloring or even an up-do's class. As a professional never be afraid to educate your clients and to keep them current
Tips & sites for finding a good stylist:
  • A good way to communicate  with your stylist is showing them pictures of what your looking for as the end result
  • if your just getting a trim of an inch don't hesitate to show them your meaning of an inch on their comb (over my years as both the client and stylist  their is a difference between dusting the ends and  cuting it off)
  • Don't be afraid to ask for their portfolio of previous work that they have done to see if their work matches your style that you like.
  • Most importantly you must have faith and trust in your stylist when getting you hair done if that connection isn't their then no one will be satisfied at the end of the hair service
  • Any professional products you find in Walmart, cvs ,target, drug stores, that is not in a salon or Cosmo school ect. ARE NOT REAL,THEY ARE WHAT WE CALL IN THE INDUSTRY BLACK MARKET FAKES.
( As a professional I tell all my clients this in the salon because in those products can contain harmful bacteria and harsh chemicals.
    )
  • I know us girls want our hair silk and healthy . and deep conditioning is OK. but remember too much protein and stuff is just like not ever doing it at all.
  • I know its hard to find that perfect stylist after they move or your move , whatever the situation but here is a site to find the perfect stylist for you in your area visit https://www.styleseat.com/

Being that Good stylist:
  • In the salon work we have to remember in our industry its not about us and our selfish wants , Its about our clients that sit in our chair and their needed and wants.
  • Every great stylist and makeup artist is a good listener, In a way we are like doctors meaning listen to what the clients air problems are and as a stylist we are here to fix those hair issues
  • This one a big one is a huge one to me ... But Please make sure your always sanitary with  cleaning your used tools  after every client , As Beauty professionals we were trained on how to not spread diseases and disorders. In our industry , especially on set for films and shoots word spreads like wild fire and when you not clean with what you do that can put your reputation on the line.
  • When behind the chair don't be afraid to explain to your client what products you use and why , as a professional we all know that our professional products are not just something  any one can buy in any store.
  • As a professional if  You know is bad for You  and You  know YOU wouldn't use it  on yourself , Then DONT USE IT ON YOUR CLIENT. Thats a huge NO ,NO!
  • The key that Ive learned about being a successful stylist in this industry is staying and being HUMBLE, Keep Inspired in you passion , Making and keeping to you goals that you have set for your self, as well as promoting your self on social  media : https://www.styleseat.com/
This is some advice that I could think of off the top of my head  and if you have and questions or want some how to's click the like below which will send you to my personal comment box .
