Being Inspired by Positive People
by Unknown on

Displaying photo.PNGEveryone Knows Sheila Johnson as the quite, observational, dorky type. However everyone knows SHEILA J as the fierce, confident woman in front of the camera. I love to show people by actions what I am doing and not by words. I fight for what I want; so if I say I want something be careful what you say because I will probably as always be like a lighting bug chasing after WHAT I WANT. Call it what you want I call it a wish, dream, and reality. My reality is being inspired by others.

With that said, Have you ever met someone that you felt mirrored your personality? You can say that they inspire you as much as you inspire yourself. The truth is surrounding yourself with people who support you and your dreams is an amazing thing, and to support others dreams is just as amazing. I started my blog, as way for me to inspire others and show models that you can still save the money you make as a model/ actress or any creative artists. The launch of my blog was originally January 1, 2014. However I Launched it earlier than expected December 25, 2013 giving everyone a surprise that they could not believe.

Why? I launched my blog so early, I want nothing more then to change my situations that I have put myself in becoming A greater me. I would like to say that in meeting a particular person that has started his own independent online television network, acts, models, and who is just an over all creative person had a little something to do with the blog being launched early.  I was so inspired by their work ethic that I placed their logo on my blog wanting to surprise them. They showed me that going after your dreams is better than working a part time job for the rest of your life. (Not that I didn't know that, but Just someone living their dreams made me want to be like "See MOM I TOLD YOU!")

Now I am not saying that others do not inspire me  because let's face my whole Circle of friends inspire me. However this one person just stood out to me. Richard Nwaoko of Rich Chill TV is truly a genuine and humble person. Mr. Rich Chill is Ambitious, Charming, Successful, and has reached for the stars doing things that I believe are what sets him apart from a lot of others in this business. I have to say he is going to be very Successful. I believe that everything happens for reasons and god puts people in your life because of that phrase.
A friend of mine told me

"If you surround yourself with toxic people that Negative things will keep happening to you, but if you surround yourself with more positive people than more positive things will happen."
Rich Chill, does not know how much of inspiration that he is to me hence the reason why I decided to write this article.

Meeting Rich for the first time to work on a comedy skit called "Who is Sheila J?" Was like a mind blowing experience, it's. Like your surrounded by a person that's ambitious just like you and you just want to like succeed with them. Rich is coming out with a web series black action, Which is set to air on January 28, 2014 talk about doing MAJOR PR WORK RIGHT NOW LOL. I was lucky enough to have the chance to interview rich and hears what he had to say.

Let the readers know who is Richard Nwaoko?
I’m just a chill guy that aspires to inspire others to do more, be more.
What made you get into acting and producing your own online TV network?
It’s not a lot of black entertainers in the entertainment industry. I always wanted to be an actor in the hopes of one day having my own show like Will Smith starring in “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air”, and Martin Lawrence starring in the 90s hit television series “Martin”. Instead of me waiting for the opportunity, I simply made the decision to create my own paradise so I started self-producing my content.  RichChillTV serves as a springboard for independent artists like myself in allowing them to showcase their talents for the world to see.
What are your inspirations?
A lot of things inspire me; people and life inspire me.  Black entertainers such as Martin Lawrence, Jamie Foxx, Eddie Murphy, Steve Harvey, Will Smith, Idris Elba, and Tyler Perry all have contributed so much to the field of entertainment. All of their stories detailing how they made it to where they are encourages me to dream bigger and work hard. Before Tyler Perry became Madea, he used to live in his car. He took the initiative to showcase his talents to the world and the world, in turn, took notice. With RichChillTV, I plan to give hope to the independent artists out there.  The talents I work with are so talented that it would be an utter travesty if the world doesn’t get a chance to experience what they have to offer.  I have built an atmosphere through my network where they can simply enjoy the art of what they do.  I realized a long time ago that the key to greatness is to feel good about what you do.  Once that is achieved, passion grows like an unquenchable flame that not even the most elite firefighter can put out. With the shift of new media, I hope to continue the legacy “the great ones” (Martin, Chris Rock, etc.) have started. Even the new media entertainers such as Andre Bachelor aka KingBach and DeshawnRaw use YouTube as platform to build a fan base. I hope RichChillTV will do the same with upcoming entertainers.
What's the back story of Rich Chill?  How did you come up with that?
I didn’t; the people did.  Everyone called me Rich Chill-I know; how original- instead of Richard for as long as I can remember.  The Rich part was to make it easier to get my attention like how a friend calls his buddy “TJ” assuming his buddy’s first and middle name is Timothy James respectively. The completion of my persona as “Rich Chill” came later in college. I acquired that nickname by the students on my campus (Fairleigh Dickinson University).  “Chill” is my favorite word most would say.  Maybe it’s because I say the word a lot.  Those who know me would say that this is a serious understatement.   When I deejayed on campus, I danced to the music I played, and everyone would shout out, “Chill, Rich Chill”.  If they wanted me to stop, they would then say, “Rich chill”, but I couldn’t stop doing what I love to do, which is to entertain. I’m just a chill dude with no chill button. J
Being that Black Action is set to air on Jan. 28 can you tell us at Model Savings a little bit about Black Action and your vision for it?
Well, growing up in an urban community, I saw my peers get distracted from accomplishing their goals. So, with this web series I want to teach my audience that if they focus on the task at hand he/she can accomplish anything. The way I want to convey my message is in the form of entertainment (Black Action). Black people taking action on their goals
Seeing you’re 23 and doing your dreams at a young age what advice can you give others to pursue their dreams?
Have faith in yourself and keep it simple.  Also, follow your heart because that is the blueprint to your success.   The more you listen to it, the more clarity you’ll gain of who you are.
What can we expect from you in the future? Where do you see yourself in 2-5 years from now?
I see myself having my own sitcom, and my network being a platform for independent artists to showcase their talents to the world.

I can not wait to see what other amazing things that Rich has in store for the year and maybe get to work on some of these projects with him as well. You can Definitely say he is inspiration, A handsome Catch and just a overall successful person.
ABC Family be on the look out for this one.

5 MINUTE ABS? OMG !
by Unknown on

It's totally never to early to work on your summer bod.
And now you can workout for just 5 minutes to get the abs you always wanted.
So I have on demand and I always go to intermediate workouts to see if
I can handle the extreme workouts. I came across abs & core first workout with Mike Chang
and it's only 5 minutes. Yes I said it again 5 minutes on your lovely abs.
All you're doing is 30 seconds of  elbow to knee crunches and 30 secs of burpees
in your 5 minutes, so switch every 30 seconds. You can also add another
30 seconds ab workout to this routine.
I've been doing it twice a day ( morning and night ) for the past few days.
I've seen results in the first day and boy was it a killer but it's worth it.
I'm going to start posting pictures once a week on my IG @biancadamodel
of my fabulous abs. Here's my first picture : http://instagram.com/p/jNTd8Quhcn/
The bottom left was the morning and the side right was that night.
Amazing right? I was amazed.
To treat yourself after a extreme 5 minute workout make yourself on of my fruit or veggie
smoothies that was posted not to long ago.
Good luck and enjoy your sexy abs ☺️

Group Post: What's Your Inspiration?
by Unknown on

I'm Nina, from Grand Adventures of Me. I am inspired by love. My prayer is that I exude the love of Christ to others. I see love in people around me, and I want to be able to grow in love more each and every day. While I fall short often, I am encouraged and picked up again by the constant love of my family, friends, and my Savior. https://twitter.com/Nina_Williamson

Danielle @  A Writer In LOVE
Displaying 015 (3) - Copy.JPGI am incredibly inspired by the people I surround myself with.  My family members are all hard-working, kind people.  My parents do everything they can to ensure my sister and I are cared for.  They have provided us with an environment that is safe, comforting, and loving.  They have given us the opportunity to grow and to become our own people.  Even though my sister is younger than me, I am inspired by her determination and spirit.  As she embarks on her first year of college to become a teacher, I find myself inspired by her drive to make her dreams a reality.  As a writer, I am inspired by the writing professors I have had the pleasure to take classes with.  I have learned many valuable lessons from them, as well as from my workshop peers.  In a field where you "get out what you put in," dedication and tireless energy are important.

https://scontent-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-prn1/1016398_622624739902_697315443_n.jpgI'm inspired by other women who are out there making their dreams reality.  I love when I see a girl taking the world by the horns and creating a fantastic world for herself and others without caving into peer pressure about what society says she ought to be.  Those women are my constant inspiration, and I hope I can live up to the paths they've laid out for me!

Shayla @ Moons & Junes
My daughter. I know, right? So cheesey. But she's been my inspiration for nearly 2 years now, and my life is so much better with her as my focus. She is my inspiration for living healthier, working harder, and seeing myself as strong and independent. I want her to grow up seeing these things in me, so that I can be a good role model for her. I want her to know from example what it is to be a strong woman, and a good mother and wife. Not only is she an inspiration to me in these ways, but she's also been an inspiration to me in growing a business. Everything I make first started out as something I made once for her. My designs grow as she grows. She's only 1 year and a half, and she has no idea what an inspiration she is, and will continue to be, for myself, and I'm sure for others along the way.

Rachel @Rachel is everywhere
I'm about to start my final year of university and I know that once I finish my degree, I'll be able to travel overseas and experience so many new things. I'm really inspired by the prospect of travelling and living in places I've never been before. I can't wait to immerse myself in different, unfamiliar cultures and learn how things work outside of my safe little bubble. That's what keeps me going through my studies, knowing that when I'm finished, I'll be able to head out into the world and explore.
What inspires me?  My children.  The Beanie Babies are my inspiration for my life.  I love that they motivate me whenever I am down.

Im new to this called Blogging?
by Unknown on

I am at work right now talking to my boss about my modeling, and how I think when I stop modeling, I want to go into being a Social Media Specialists. I dont know, but I am really good at Marketing Instagram, I have helped other with theres. He tells me go to school; so I say well I will go to school online. However he goes back on the idea of investing in yourself which I completely agree with. But what if I dont want go to go back to school, most of the people that I have admired, never went to school and got there degrees and they are doing just fine. I am sitting her doing Research on this Blogging stuff saying to myself I am not HAPPY with how my current Blog template looks, Printing a those pages from http://heartifb.com/ because I want to LEARN MORE. I am saying how I come up with Advertising Packages do I sell Ads now. Like how often do I post? Everything is new to me. This thing called BLOGGING is NEW to ME! Which is not a bad thing I am learning but who can I talk and get advice from when it comes to this because I am new blogger. It gets to me, and I wonder if I will be accepted. My blog has this whole purpose of helping others not just models or anyone in the fashion business but regular people, because I am going through my struggles, and I am trying my hardest to get out of my struggles. This blog is to help people get through their everyday and hope and SAVE little bit of money in the process. I wrote to much but I just had to write!

If you have any advice or feed back you can give me on anything that I just said that would be forever apperiated.

:)

Hi, my name is Andrea Pascalau from Corsei Photography.
I am so honored to contribute to this wonderful blog that will definitely help models get organized and get through their daily lives as they try to pursue their dreams and passions!
Model: Lauren Dod
Hair: Kailah Krutsch
MUA: Roxanna Monica Alexandru
To start let me tell you a little about me.
I currently live in Chicago, born and raised. I do love this city very much, even though I see my future in New York!
I am a fashion and beauty photographer and I work with model's on their portfolio's development. I currently work with adult female models and children models.

I began photography just a year and a half ago and I have been doing retouching for a bit over half a year now. I always loved art, in all forms, music, painting, plus more but the strongest love is photography.
I found my passion in a dark place in my life. I struggled through a tough relationship and was not happy with what I was doing at the job I had.
I was good at it and I worked hard, but I knew that I wanted to work for myself.
I thought about pursuing a singing career but I will be honest, I don’t have the confidence to be in front of a crowd of 2 or more people, so clearly that was not the route for me. I always painted at home when I had the time but that still didn’t feel like it was going to become my career.

Well my father had a Nikon camera that I loved to play with, whenever family was getting together, I wanted to shoot, I was the one to grab the camera and capture everything I possibly could. When I got to share those moments and see how happy it made my family, I began wondering about photography.

Model: Berkeley Clayborne
Concept / H&MUA: Yvonne Wallace
So with no hesitation, I jumped in full force, with nothing holding me back except my full time job, I purchased my first camera and lens. It was scary investing into equipment with no assurance of success but it felt right. I started off with my own family doing little jobs, and progressed to co-workers families and Christmas sessions and babies, events and parties… And although I was making people happy with their photos, it still didn’t feel 100% right.
As I was going through these sessions, I started to “advertise” on craigslist offering photos and searched for people to shoot with. I came across my first models (Berkeley along with her siblings and another model, Lauren).
That’s when it began, the passion to work with subjects who would express the emotions I wanted in my images. I started searching model mayhem, with a large fear of never getting anyone to work with me, even on trade projects but I met amazing people who helped me progress and grow. The list is too long for me to really name each individual who has been part of my career this far but I am so thankful for them.

I struggled along the way and I continue to struggle with different things, studio lighting, difficult models, people who flake on a shoot, never thinking I am good enough, all sorts of moments in my own work that I may not be happy about but I keep working and every time I fail I find the desire to push myself to do better. And with the wonderful people who surround me and the fans that follow my work and encourage me every day, it only makes me fall in love with photography even more.

So really I just want to encourage you, when you have a passion or desire for something (and this applies to everyone), just go for it! Follow your passion, because should you fail, you will never have to wonder, What if I had tried...

Through the last year or so I have learned some great things I would love to suggest to you as a model.

1. Just cause it's trade work, don’t sell yourself short. Be selective with who you work with. Just because it’s free doesn’t mean it’s good. Trade work should be beneficial to you. Learn the insides of the type of modeling career you pursue. The retouching and lighting is very important too. You need to build your portfolio with work that is strong, not large. Quality over quantity! I am rarely interested in working with models whose portfolios are weak, unless I see a strong potential in the model as an individual so why not make it easier for the photographer or other artist to select you.

2. Paid work. I would say some of the same things apply as in trade work. Be careful what you are doing for pay. You have to keep in mind, those are images that will forever be out there so you want to make sure they will not bring you down or even worse ruin your career. Respect yourself as an artist. We are all different artists with different taste. You would never go buy something you didn’t like so don’t sell yourself to someone who won’t respect your talent or look.

Model: Sheila Love Nicholas
H&MUA: Yvonne Wallace
3. Study up on the photographer you will work with. Make sure you are always putting yourself in a safe situation. If you are not comfortable going alone, you are probably right so bring a friend, and let someone else know where you will be. I can’t stress this enough how important safety is at all times!
Yes some photographers prefer that you do not bring someone, and sometimes that’s because they don’t want that “friend” to be a distraction during the shoot (but that’s not true in all cases). So make sure you advise the friend you are bringing not to bother you and make sure the photographer you will work with is aware as well. Your safety is most important, so if they don’t understand that, then there is a larger hidden issue.

4. Respect the people you work with. I can’t say how many times a makeup artist, hair stylist, model, photographer, etc. has destroyed their reputation because they are careless or flake on others. Be honest with yourself as well as the people you plan to work with. Respect their time and effort for what they do. Because when you don’t respect them, you don’t respect yourself.

5. Prepare for your shoot, even if everything will be provided. Bring your basics: black heels, nude heels, jeans, tank tops, nude and black strapless bras, your foundation, lip gloss, mascara, blush, etc. So that in a worst case scenario you’ll have something prepared if someone / something falls through. Make sure your nails are always clean, manicured (nude or clear polish). I hate having to photo shop nails that are chipped or the wrong color for my project. And keep your eyes fresh because correcting redness or bloodshot eyes are a waste of time and if it can be prevented on your end, then you should be doing so.

6. Take care of your body. I can’t say I am the best at taking care of myself, but when you are the subject, when you are the selling point in the image, you have to look your best. Care for your skin as this also gives your photographer / makeup artist / retoucher less work. And of course when you eat and drink healthy, besides looking great, you will feel great. I don’t care what anyone says about modeling, it’s a career that is a very demanding, especially for those of you who have other jobs on top of it or going to school.

Model: Brooke Boerman
H&MUA: Roxanna Monica  Alexandru
 7. Keep your ideas organized. Whether it’s a journal or Pinterest or another social media format, keep your ideas together. Posing, images you want to recreate, images that inspire you, models you look up to, and so on, keep track of these things because there will be times you will wish you could remember that one thing but have no idea what you did with it.

8.  Update and refresh your portfolio. You always, always need fully body and head shots. This is the most common requested type of image from other artists, agencies, or possible employers. Variety is great as well, beauty, high fashion, lifestyle and so on. Just know the type of modeling you want to do and stick to building that type of portfolio with an extension of some different styles, because as I market myself as specific type of photographer, you market yourself as a certain type of model.

9. You Better WORK! As Britney says it in one of her latest songs, you can’t expect for things to fall in your lap, you have to work for what you want. Whether it’s going to castings, researching for jobs in your area, social networking, you have to work! Yea some people get to go far by doing almost nothing, but those are few and rare cases. Don’t sit on the hopes that you will be one of those. Trust me when you work for something, the reward will not only feel greater but it will be BIG.

10. Fail. It sounds scary but you can’t be afraid to fail. Failure is part of what makes a person. We grow because of it. I see that most people have become even more successful after a failure or obstacle. These are just challenges, they won’t ruin you, they are just something we have to work over and push through. They will only make the end result even sweeter.

I look forward to hearing from any of you, if you are looking for advice or hey, maybe you need a photographer... I’m here! :)
