Why? I launched my blog so early, I want nothing more then to change my situations that I have put myself in becoming A greater me. I would like to say that in meeting a particular person that has started his own independent online television network, acts, models, and who is just an over all creative person had a little something to do with the blog being launched early. I was so inspired by their work ethic that I placed their logo on my blog wanting to surprise them. They showed me that going after your dreams is better than working a part time job for the rest of your life. (Not that I didn't know that, but Just someone living their dreams made me want to be like "See MOM I TOLD YOU!")Now I am not saying that others do not inspire me because let's face my whole Circle of friends inspire me. However this one person just stood out to me. Richard Nwaoko of Rich Chill TV is truly a genuine and humble person. Mr. Rich Chill is Ambitious, Charming, Successful, and has reached for the stars doing things that I believe are what sets him apart from a lot of others in this business. I have to say he is going to be very Successful. I believe that everything happens for reasons and god puts people in your life because of that phrase.
"If you surround yourself with toxic people that Negative things will keep happening to you, but if you surround yourself with more positive people than more positive things will happen."
Let the readers know who
is Richard Nwaoko?
I’m just a chill guy
that aspires to inspire others to do more, be more.
What made you get into
acting and producing your own online TV network?
It’s not a lot of
black entertainers in the entertainment industry. I always wanted to be an
actor in the hopes of one day having my own show like Will Smith starring in “The
Fresh Prince of Bel-Air”, and Martin Lawrence starring in the 90s hit
television series “Martin”. Instead of me waiting for the opportunity, I simply
made the decision to create my own paradise so I started self-producing my
content. RichChillTV serves as a
springboard for independent artists like myself in allowing them to showcase their
talents for the world to see.
What are your
inspirations?
A lot of things
inspire me; people and life inspire me. Black
entertainers such as Martin Lawrence, Jamie Foxx, Eddie Murphy, Steve Harvey,
Will Smith, Idris Elba, and Tyler Perry all have contributed so much to the
field of entertainment. All of their stories detailing how they made it to
where they are encourages me to dream bigger and work hard. Before Tyler Perry
became Madea, he used to live in his car. He took the initiative to showcase
his talents to the world and the world, in turn, took notice. With RichChillTV,
I plan to give hope to the independent artists out there. The talents I work with are so talented that
it would be an utter travesty if the world doesn’t get a chance to experience
what they have to offer. I have built an
atmosphere through my network where they can simply enjoy the art of what they
do. I realized a long time ago that the
key to greatness is to feel good about what you do. Once that is achieved, passion grows like an
unquenchable flame that not even the most elite firefighter can put out. With
the shift of new media, I hope to continue the legacy “the great ones” (Martin,
Chris Rock, etc.) have started. Even the new media entertainers such as Andre
Bachelor aka KingBach and DeshawnRaw use YouTube as platform to build a fan
base. I hope RichChillTV will do the same with upcoming entertainers.
What's the back story of
Rich Chill? How did you come up with
that?
I
didn’t; the people
did. Everyone called me Rich Chill-I
know; how original- instead of Richard for as long as I can remember.
The Rich part was to make it easier to get my
attention like how a friend calls his buddy “TJ” assuming his buddy’s
first and
middle name is Timothy James respectively. The completion of my persona
as
“Rich Chill” came later in college. I acquired that nickname by the
students on
my campus (Fairleigh Dickinson University).
“Chill” is my favorite word most would say. Maybe it’s because I say
the word a lot. Those who know me would say that this is a
serious understatement. When I deejayed on campus, I danced to the
music I played, and everyone would shout out, “Chill, Rich Chill”. If
they wanted me to stop, they would then
say, “Rich chill”, but I couldn’t stop doing what I love to do, which is
to entertain.
I’m just a chill dude with no chill button. J
Being that Black Action is
set to air on Jan. 28 can you tell us at Model Savings a little bit about Black
Action and your vision for it?
Well, growing up in an
urban community, I saw my peers get distracted from accomplishing their goals.
So, with this web series I want to teach my audience that if they focus on the
task at hand he/she can accomplish anything. The way I want to convey my
message is in the form of entertainment (Black Action). Black people taking
action on their goals
Seeing you’re 23 and doing
your dreams at a young age what advice can you give others to pursue their
dreams?
Have faith in yourself
and keep it simple. Also, follow your
heart because that is the blueprint to your success. The more you listen to it, the more clarity
you’ll gain of who you are.
What can we expect from
you in the future? Where do you see yourself in 2-5 years from now?
I see myself having my own
sitcom, and my network being a platform for independent artists to showcase
their talents to the world.
I can not wait to see what other amazing things that Rich has in store for the year and maybe get to work on some of these projects with him as well. You can Definitely say he is inspiration, A handsome Catch and just a overall successful person.
