Book Review: Before Happiness By Shawn Achor
by Unknown on

“Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself.”
― Leo Tolstoy

Being positive in today's world serves as a HUGE
player point.
However it seems as though some are stuck in the world of negative
thoughts.

The question that author Shawn Achor
brings up is
WHY are some people so much happier and more successful than others? "If you want to change your life, you FIRST have to CHANGE your REALITY." - Shawn Achor

This book is highly recommended to anyone who wants to change their lives in a positive way.

Before happiness has shown me that there are other options
than always thinking negatively
all of the time.

Park Blues

The park blues with Shelly
Sitting on the bench wondering where I am going.
How I am I getting there.
and
what my purpose is?
Does real love exist or do I have to search for it for life?
Does the girl that really cares have to deal with the
consistent battle of feeling like
she's not worthy?
This is why its park blues.

Model Mayhem Review
by Unknown on

Model Mayhem is a site where models, photographers, makeup artists and other talent can find each other. It is FREE to join, and when you Join you can get up to 15 photos FREE in your portfolio and if you want more you have to PAY to UPGRADE. Even than that is not bad; Model Mayhem has been a SITE that I have found some decent Modeling GIGS and had the chance to work with some amazing photographers, make up artists and hair stylists. I am thankful for this site. However this site also has a down side you MUST be careful who you are shooting with because a lot of the time you do not know what is going to happen. SO I usually ask for references from the photographer to be on the safe side! You have to be at least 16 to sign up but even than I would until 18 to sign up!
On Model Mayhem you can upload a free portfolio and find photographers in your area to work with!

How I budget?
by Unknown on

 How I budget?

Budgeting NO ONE likes that word nor wants to do it! When people think of the word BUDGET, they think of Cheap Families. Well that may very well be the case, but I can tell you even the Richest of people more than likely budget, Businesses budget. So why as regular people can we not budget.

For me I believe the reason why a lot of people cant budget is because they were never taught how to. They were around people who spent their money and never saved it; in turn it would be very hard for them to break out it.

I do admit that I was one of those people who didn't know how to budget and save money, and because of that I got myself into some really bad issues! DEBT! DEBT, is the worst thing that you can get yourself into and I am paying off my debt as we speak!

As I speak of my reasoning for budgeting, how I am recovering myself from the debt I have gotten myself into, I wanted to share I am able to do this on Income that sometimes is never really promised, and a monthly income of $1,000.

heres the breakdown of my expenses

Rent $600
Phone $94 T-mobile (T-mobile out all the companies that I have been with is the most reasonable Phone company I will breakdown why they are in another article)
Metro Card $120 month
Credit Bills $100
Spending $100
Savings $75

I break down each of these things into 3 different Accounts
Spending Account (checking account)
Bill Account (checking account)
Savings Account

After I break each of my expenses into the categories, I divide my pay check from job every week ( if I do a photo shoot thats extra money but I do the same thing with that as well)

Weekly Breakdown
$600-$150 weekly
$94 -$23.50 weekly
$120- $30 Weekly
$100-$25 weekly
$75- $18.50 weekly

now because I break this down into what my pay check allows me, I don't over spend money when I know I cant if there is extra there is extra but I try to stick to this, and I know I didn't include a FOOD budget because most of the time I am Couponing so I am getting FREE things!

Where to find Coupons?
by Unknown on

Where to find coupons?

There are alot of ways to get coupons and several of them are free!  As someone who coupons you want to make sure that you get at least 3-6 copies of these coupons; so that you can build your stockpile. This is because if say a bottle of Kraft BBQ sauce is on sale for $1 and you have -3-6 coupons that make it a dollar off you go home with FREE BBQ sauce.

Sunday Paper is one way to get coupons. The sunday paper contains Smart Source (SS), Red Plum (RP) or Proctor & Gamble (PG).  When you order a subscription to your paper ask them two questions- Do they offer a Sunday or weekly only subscriptions?  and Do they offer a discount if you buy multiple copies of Sunday’s paper?  It is a huge benefit to have multiple copies of coupons.

There is also the options of printing coupons out from different sites.
A site that has helped me alot in my couponing http://thekrazycouponlady.com/

Blinkies
The little machines in the grocery isle with a red blinking light that hands out coupons.

Catalina Coupons
You know those extra strips of paper you get with each receipt? Those are Catalina Coupons and can be very valuable.

Peelies
Found sticking to the product itself.

Why I Started Couponing?
by Unknown on

Why I started Couponing?

Just like any other teen I had a High School job, a goal to finish school, and A desire for me to go to college but I had to save my money. In high school, I worked about 25-30 hours which I was able to handle. I was paid every two weeks. I had to figure out a way to make money last. Budgeting came into play.

While this budget and work load worked in high school, but then came College. That is when everything went downhill. I found myself wanting to accomplish big dreams, and becoming in debt as the years continue.  Having to go from job to job was not easy at all. I went from job to job because, I was focusing on modeling and my dream. I got Debt Collector letters in the mail, life was getting out of control. I asked myself  “how can I get myself out of this debt accomplish my goals and live a stable lifestyle?”

In 2013, I had moved way too many times and a budget that I just could not stick to. I started getting stressed out a lot. In turn, it took a toll on my physical appearance. That ultimately got me dropped from my modeling agency. I was heart broken and annoyed. I really needed to regroup and figure something out. I needed a better solution, that’s when I started Couponing!

This Extreme couponing was new to me. I watched a television program on extreme couponing.  I wondered how they did it. How they saved so much money and how I can implement this idea into my daily life and SAVE MONEY.  I researched and researched and started to pick up the habit of collecting coupons.  I did my first couponing trip at a local drug store. It was really fun! I get a rush doing couponing. Being a model, I can make time for saving money.  The more money I save the easier it is to keep my budget, and even pay down debt and have some left over to build a savings account.

As I started to post on my adventures of Couponing, some of my friends in the industry started asking me for advice and even though I was still new to it, I just helped them! Then Modelsavings.com came along as a way for me to show that I am a model who coupons. I am in fact in debt way over by $30,000. I just want to inspire others to do the same thing. Honesty is KEY and my debt is the reason I started couponing. In result, I also started my blog. If I can change one persons life, I have done my job.

Love At First Sight
by Unknown on

“True love, like any other strong and addicting drug, is boring — once the tale of encounter and discovery is told, kisses quickly grow stale and caresses tiresome… except, of course, to those who share the kisses, who give and take the caresses while every sound and color of the world seems to deepen and brighten around them. As with any other strong drug, true first love is really only interesting to those who have become its prisoners.
And, as is true of any other strong and addicting drug, true first love is dangerous.”
