Old Bras Will Do But Nothing Beats A New Bra :)
by Unknown on

Every female has had this happen to them at one point in their life.
I mean I know I love my bras but sometimes I
LOVE to keep them til the point of no return.
It's the bra can have the underwire can be coming out of the bra and Ill still wear the bra.
I had this one favorite bra from Victoria's Secret that
I loved so much I couldn't stop wearing the bra.
But how good would it be if you can get money for your old bra.
For every bra you turn in you get $10.
You can not beat get $10 for a bra to go towards a new one.
That's a AMAZING IF I DO SAY SO MYSELF!

Town Shop (for every bra you trade in) towards the purchase of a new bra is doing this as a current promotion. Is Victoria's Secret doing this?

The only other option is the garbage which is a lot less attractive than being paid for a useless object.
With over 80% of women wearing an incorrect sized bra, Town Shop offers a real service to its customers. They have professionals on site who help women find their perfect size every day.

Cars for clunkers was a hit, because the government helped you receive money for an old and beat up car in order to help you purchase a new car. But how many cars does the average person have? Likely one. For the entire month of March New York City's landmark Bra store Town Shop is running its "bucks for bras" special, which allows women to bring in an old bra and receive $10 off the purchase of a new bra. Now is a great time to get rid of those old bras and walk around more confidently in a perfectly fitted new bra.

So, how do you know if a bra is old and in need of an upgrade?

The magic number is 100. That is the number of wearings when diminishing returns sets in. After 100 wearings the elastic is compromised, the cups stretch, and the bra loses its elasticity, which it desperately needs to keep “your girls" where they were meant to be! Gravity is mean!
If you have four bras in your rotation, and rotate wearing them, your bras will last about a year.
Unlike wine, art and George Clooney, things don't always get better with time. Bras are one of the prime suspects.

Town Shop is a New York landmark. Open and serving the city since 1888, it sells top name brands and gives the customer something they cannot receive online: a real fitting. According to Oprah, 80% of women wear the wrong size bra. Shopping at Town Shop keeps women from being an 80%er! (or we can say “shopping at Town Shop puts women into the 20% club!)

Bucks for Bras" Bring one old bra to Town Shop and receive $10 towards a new bra.
The offer is available up to 5 old bras for the purchase of 5 new bras.

Rocksbox

Subscription shopping services are on the rise. For a monthly payment you can get anything from a box of beauty products to shoes to food. What a wonderful world we live in. Today I want to talk about Rocksbox, a subscription service with a twist. Also keep reading for a surprise :)

Rocksbox is a subscription service that sends you jewelry for $19 a month. What's ah-mazing about Rocksbox is that your box of jewelry will be worth around $200. Get this: the jewelry sent to you is on loan, so you receive the jewelry, keep it for as long as you want (yeah that's right), and return it to get a different set of jewelry.

*Shipping both ways is free
*Cancel at any time
*Personalized to your taste

You also have the option to buy the jewelry. For every month you are a member, you receive $10 towards any piece of jewelry you want to buy.

All you have to do is fill out a style survey. This is great for people like me who aren't very jewelry savvy. So no matter your taste or if you're a beginner or aficionado, Rocksbox will have the perfect pieces for you.

And let me mention this again: you can swap out your jewelry at anytime! So you can wear a variety of jewelry without spending a ton of cash. This service will be perfect for special occasions, like weddings, graduation, prom, you name it. All you have to do is pay the $19 a month, no matter how long you choose to keep one set.

Apartment Hunting: Bad credit, No guarantor, no problem!
by Unknown on

Apartment hunting has to be one of the most stressful processes. Between finding the right area and getting approved, we turn into a hot mess of anxiety. I had my struggle of apartment hunting in NYC; it was MONTHS of trying to get approved and finding a place in a decent price range. Fortunately I had a guarantor with good credit, but it still proved to be a stressful process.
If you have bad credit or no guarantor, do NOT worry. Remember, you’re not the only person in the world with bad credit and I PROMISE you will not be homeless!
I will also address freelancers and give a few sites that will help you with your search.

Take a second to breathe!

But first:
1.       Check your credit score to be sure you have bad credit.  You can check your credit score through your bank or through websites such as Credit Karma (Which really is 100% free, tried and tested!).
2.       Next if you don’t know what a guarantor is they are a person who will also be on your lease to ensure that if you were unable to pay rent one month, they will pay. A guarantor could be a parent, aunt/uncle, or any older relative or friend. It is crucial that the guarantor has good credit. Depending on where you are applying to live, whatever the rent is, the guarantor has to make x times the amount of the rent.  Guarantors are important if you have bad credit, no credit, or no history of renting.
So if you have bad credit and no guarantor, keep reading!
3. To qualify as a freelancer you must do different work for different companies. An example would be a freelance web designer or journalist. Its hard for freelancers to get approved for apartments because although they may have the money, on paper they have a low income.

For renters with bad credit:

Are you on good terms with your current landlord? Your current landlord can write you a reference letter. Your landlord will know if you paid your rent on time each month, if you were respectful of the building/property, how long you lived at the property, etc. They will basically put in a good word for you to your potential landlord.

OR

A letter from your employer will be helpful. Landlords want tenants with job security, so if you can prove to the landlord you are not at risk for losing your job, they’ll definitely overlook your bad credit. As long as you pay the rent each month!

Be honest with your new landlord. Explain why your credit is so low and provide proof that you can pay the rent on time each month!

Offer a larger deposit. The landlord will feel more secure with you being their tenant (offer like 3-6 months of rent in advance). If that is totally undoable, no worries! Offer a percentage larger security deposit.

Lastly, if possible, offer automatic payment of rent from your bank to the landlord. This will definitely put them at ease!

If you have no guarantor:

There are such things as guarantor services! Such as Insurant  or WeCosign
They have minimum requirements you must meet, but if you're approved they will be your guarantor.

FREELANCERS

Depending on what your freelance work of choice is take the time to find the paperwork!
CURRENT pay stubs from different jobs you've worked
Bank statements to show that you do have the money to afford the place.
Depending on what you do, a signed contract with whomever you are doing work for (ex. Publisher if you're a writer).
And the resources and willingness to pay a few months in advance.
You basically have to prove through paper work that you can afford the rent each month.

Apartment Search sites:

I've tried everything from Craigslist to seriously considering hiring a broker. I do not reccoment Craigslist, although I know a few people who have had luck with the site and a broker is a good option, but they can be expensive. They basically find apartments in your price range and set up appointments to view them. However, depending on the broker, you will have to pay them.

This site is where I found my apartment. Its absolutely free and makes it easy to search neighborhoods for the perfect fit. Unfortunately its only in the NYC area, but is a great site to find AFFORDABLE apartments (no-fee). I also loved how easy it was to search and browse through the listings. This site really needs to go nationwide ASAP!

This site is nationwide, so if you don't live in a big city, this site will still be super helpful. Its listings are detailed and you'll have easy access to contact information.

This site is great for any big city dweller. It focuses on not only finding your perfect apartment but the neighborhood that is the right fit. You can use an interactive map to explore different neighborhoods within your city.

Good luck and may the odds every be in your favor!

Hyperbiotics also doesn’t include any additives to any of their products. There are no chemicals, preservatives, artificial flavors or colors and they are also 100% vegetarian. It has a long shelf life and does not need to be refrigerated.

Pro-Dental is a must for those who suffer from:

Earn $$ in your spare time
by Unknown on

As a broke college student I am always looking for ways to earn a little extra cash. I heard about a survey website, Opinion Outpost, where you can earn money. What you do is you fill out surveys that are valued at different points, usually starting at 5 points and can range to 100 points (I took an hour long survey worth a 100 points). The amount of points is usually based on the length and content of the survey. For a certain amount of points you can earn various rewards:
100pts = $10
50pts = $5 Amazon Gift card
or a $5 iTunes Gift card
And those are only a few of the rewards you can choose from. I obviously choose the $10 reward, which goes straight into my PayPal account and from there directly into my bank account.
I've been doing these surveys for months, and I've already earned about $60 from surveys. Now obviously this isn't meant to be a steady income, I just like the $10 here and there because it can make all the difference. You need a lot of patience for the surveys. At first its fun and then it can get boring. A lot of times you will start taking a survey and you won't qualify for it, and that can be a bummer. One of the cool things about the surveys is that some will ask you to try a product. I actually got paid $10 in cash to test body wash for a company. I also got $30 for engaging in a forum for a company to review advertisements. So not only can you receive rewards from Opinion Outpost, but some of the surveys themselves will reward you.
Its definitely worth checking out, and especially if you're college age because a lot of the surveys are targeted at our age group. Click here to get started!

I love to make new bloggy friends. You will find my blogging schedule is pretty consistent. • Monday- is Make It Monday” a day filled with features and inspiration from the previous weeks blog hop. • Tuesday- a new recipe creation is shared. • Thursday- is time for Thursday Favorite Things blog hop, Sheila is my new co hostess♥ ( it starts Wednesday night at 8 PM MST) I invite you to link up and share your blog. You will find blogs for everyone; style blogs, lifestyle blogs, recipe blogs, makeup blogs, craft blogs, faith blogs and more • Friday/Saturday/Sunday you will find new giveaways, life stories, DIY/crafts, makeovers, blogging tips, etc. What is your inspiration and why did you start blogging? Be Happy katherines corner A rejection letter from a publisher got me started blogging. It was a nice rejection though as far as rejection goes. Not your standard "fill in the blank with the authors name " although I did have a few of those. It read something like this-, “ loved your writing, the photographs are beautiful, but…we are not taking on any unknown authors at this time.” So Katherines Corner (originally known as Go Ask Katie) was born. Who said we can’t control our destiny? I am very happy my road led to blogging.I am motivated to keep blogging by my desire to share with others. Bloggy friendships are amazing! The hugs felt through comments and emails, and the bond between blog friends brings me true joy. What do you do if you get writers block as a blogger? guided meditation by Katherine Corrigan All writers/bloggers have experienced this at least once. I like to describe my blogging style as reliable, comfortable, worth reading and filled with sharing spirit. It is with that in mind that I can move forward when I find myself “blocked”. Meditation and a look around at the things I enjoy. Motivates me and the stagnant fog of writers block leaves quickly. What are some tips that you can give new bloggers in this blogging community? blogging tips from Katherines Corner I share blogging tips regularly at Katherines Corner. I have a whole blogging tips section HERE. When I first tiptoed into the blogging pool found very little being shared about how and what to do to. I found my way stumbling in the dark. So I keep the light on for bloggers new and old with my blogging tips. I do my best to keep informative and useful information updated regularly. The best thing a blogger can give to their readers is, themselves. I know that may sound cliché. But, bloggers need to be true to themselves in order to reach the readers. Not a carbon copy of other blogs. Do not, and I mean DO NOT compare your blog to another, especially a blog that has been around a while. Lastly, it’s a blog, not your life. Move away from your computer, live your life. Then sit down and share it with us. We look forward to reading about it. What's are some projects that you are working on and some of your greatest achievements so far? katherines corner blog schedule I am a planner, I’m currently setting up giveaways ( I have one very month), preparing a tutorial series for food photography, and planning new recipes to share. My greatest achievements have little to do with blogging and everything to do with life♥ But, I have achieved recognition in magazines and on websites. Those acknowledgements are proud blogging achievements. Since Modelsavings.com is A blog about saving money, What is a time that you had to save money? Living on a budget doesn’t change as you get older. It actually becomes even more important. Thinking about our future and retirement were distance thoughts when we were younger. Now we are in a constant state of savings for the future. When I was in my early twenties I had a lot of fun. Traveling (I even did some modeling) and going on plenty of adventures. Budget was always part of the equation. I admire people who have the whole couponing system down. I’m tickled if I have a savings of $5-$10 when I go to the market. But friends and others are dedicated couponers. They get their shopping done with hardly a dent in their budget. I applaud them and I also acknowledge I don’t have it in me to sort coupons for hours. But, I do admire those who kick butt at it! Where can the readers find you on social media?
