I am a Mother to one (she’s 34) Grandmother to five (ages 5-15) and I am also Mama to our sweet dog Izzy. Izzy I invite you to get better acquainted by visiting my About Page HERE. I love to make new bloggy friends. I am a self-employed artist and designer at Keepsakes By Katherine, Be Well Gifts ,Gifts By Katherine.com and Blog Art By Katherine At Katherines Corner I share a variety of things that make me smile. You will find my blogging schedule is pretty consistent. • Monday- is Make It Monday” a day filled with features and inspiration from the previous weeks blog hop. • Tuesday- a new recipe creation is shared. • Thursday- is time for Thursday Favorite Things blog hop, Sheila is my new co hostess♥ ( it starts Wednesday night at 8 PM MST) I invite you to link up and share your blog. You will find blogs for everyone; style blogs, lifestyle blogs, recipe blogs, makeup blogs, craft blogs, faith blogs and more • Friday/Saturday/Sunday you will find new giveaways, life stories, DIY/crafts, makeovers, blogging tips, etc. What is your inspiration and why did you start blogging? Be Happy katherines corner A rejection letter from a publisher got me started blogging. It was a nice rejection though as far as rejection goes. Not your standard "fill in the blank with the authors name " although I did have a few of those. It read something like this-, “ loved your writing, the photographs are beautiful, but…we are not taking on any unknown authors at this time.” So Katherines Corner (originally known as Go Ask Katie) was born. Who said we can’t control our destiny? I am very happy my road led to blogging.I am motivated to keep blogging by my desire to share with others. Bloggy friendships are amazing! The hugs felt through comments and emails, and the bond between blog friends brings me true joy. What do you do if you get writers block as a blogger? guided meditation by Katherine Corrigan All writers/bloggers have experienced this at least once. I like to describe my blogging style as reliable, comfortable, worth reading and filled with sharing spirit. It is with that in mind that I can move forward when I find myself “blocked”. Meditation and a look around at the things I enjoy. Motivates me and the stagnant fog of writers block leaves quickly. What are some tips that you can give new bloggers in this blogging community? blogging tips from Katherines Corner I share blogging tips regularly at Katherines Corner. I have a whole blogging tips section HERE. When I first tiptoed into the blogging pool found very little being shared about how and what to do to. I found my way stumbling in the dark. So I keep the light on for bloggers new and old with my blogging tips. I do my best to keep informative and useful information updated regularly. The best thing a blogger can give to their readers is, themselves. I know that may sound cliché. But, bloggers need to be true to themselves in order to reach the readers. Not a carbon copy of other blogs. Do not, and I mean DO NOT compare your blog to another, especially a blog that has been around a while. Lastly, it’s a blog, not your life. Move away from your computer, live your life. Then sit down and share it with us. We look forward to reading about it. What's are some projects that you are working on and some of your greatest achievements so far? katherines corner blog schedule I am a planner, I’m currently setting up giveaways ( I have one very month), preparing a tutorial series for food photography, and planning new recipes to share. My greatest achievements have little to do with blogging and everything to do with life♥ But, I have achieved recognition in magazines and on websites. Those acknowledgements are proud blogging achievements. Since Modelsavings.com is A blog about saving money, What is a time that you had to save money? Living on a budget doesn’t change as you get older. It actually becomes even more important. Thinking about our future and retirement were distance thoughts when we were younger. Now we are in a constant state of savings for the future. When I was in my early twenties I had a lot of fun. Traveling (I even did some modeling) and going on plenty of adventures. Budget was always part of the equation. I admire people who have the whole couponing system down. I’m tickled if I have a savings of $5-$10 when I go to the market. But friends and others are dedicated couponers. They get their shopping done with hardly a dent in their budget. I applaud them and I also acknowledge I don’t have it in me to sort coupons for hours. But, I do admire those who kick butt at it! Where can the readers find you on social media?

BOBBI JO KITCHEN BIO:

An extraordinary beauty, Bobbi Jo exploded onto the modeling scene as
a lead in the Young Buck music video for the single “I know U Want
Me,” featuring Jazze Pha. As a model/actress, she has since been
recognized by artists and casting directors as a woman who definitely
stands out above the rest. Since appearing in the video, it has been a
non-stop grind for this charismatic, blue-eyed beauty, who has since
been spotlighted in magazines such as XXL Magazine, Source Magazine,
and Black Men Magazine, modeling Gucci and Saks Fifth Avenue with Trey
Songz. Known as the 2008 face for Coogi Clothing’s Women’s Line
re-launch, Bobbi has also been in music videos for Wyclef, Lloyd
Banks, Ray J, and Prodigy of Mob Deep. She’s received especially
large notoriety for her role as 50 Cent’s Baby Mother in his video
“I Get Money,” and her role as a Matrix Fighter in his “Ok,
You’re Right” video.

Raised in Brooklyn, New York by a single mother, Bobbi had to grow up
quickly and learn how to take care of herself at an early age.
Spending 10 years of her youth in foster care, she moved around a lot
during her younger years. It is particularly because of her rough
upbringing that she strives to succeed in whatever she does. At the
same time, she refuses to compromise her integrity and her standards.
With a Bachelors Degree in Media and Communication and an English
minor from SUNY Old Westbury College in Long Island, NY, Bobbi Jo
definitely believes that education is just as important as being
noticed in the entertainment industry. She does not consider modeling
as a last resort.

In an industry where many models are willing to do whatever it takes
to get ahead, Bobbi Jo insists that one must be selective in choosing
modeling jobs. There have been several instances where she has been
offered a project, but has chosen to politely decline because the
material wasn’t complimentary to her image. “It is important to
see the bigger picture,” she states.

When all is said and done, Bobbi Jo’s main objective, in addition to
advancing her budding acting career, is to obtain major make-up line,
hair product, and clothing line campaigns. Under her belt she
currently has a lead role as “Denise” in the Spike Lee directed
10th Anniversary Rocawear commercial, along with a lead role in The
JBS Prive “Urban Beauty Hair” commercial. JBS (Jinny Beauty
Supply) is a multi-million dollar company and leader in the ethnic
beauty industry, with distribution centers in Chicago, Atlanta, Miami
and Dallas. The commercial aired on a variety of major television
networks, including ABC, NBC, FOX, CW, and Comcast affiliates ranging
from BET, MTV, VH-1, BRAVO and Entertainment Television, to name a
few.

You may have seen Bobbi Jo as Rip the Runway’s First Professional
Winner of BET's Model Mission Show, or caught her feature in
“Notorious” in the director’s cut. She also played feature role
in “The Perfect Age of Rock and Roll” with Taryn Manning and Kevin
Zegers.

Bobbi’s compassion is what stands out most about her. She hopes to
one day play a major role in changing the lives of foster care
children by investing time in her community, and being a positive
female role model for younger girls who have similar goals.

Be on the lookout for Bobbi Jo's Feature in “Sex in the City 2”,
“Wall Street 2”, and as the face of Outré Hair Line’s 2010 hair
packaging campaign.

Most recently Bobbi J is in Seagram's Gin 2011 Calendar as Miss June.
She is the Face of Outre Hair Line 2011 National Calendar and also
featured in the calendar for the month of September. Currently Bobbi
Jo is modeling for KISS Cosmetics “Ruby Kisses”, having a Back
Cover ad in Upscale Magazine for the Line. She debuted her comedic
acting in a Parody for Eminem and Rihanna's "Love the Way you lie”
video while working with The Key of Awesome which received over 40
Million views on Youtube.com. Continuously Bobbi Jo models and acts
with Major clients ranging from make-up, hair, clothing, TV,
commercial and movies. She currently has a credited featured in the
Movie "The Perfect Age of Rock n Roll" on theaters and currently on
Video on Demand. Most recently Bobbi Jo landed a principal role in a
National Gillette Commercial and Finally joined the Screen Actors
Guild. She is consistently booking commercial and movie appearances
with her ambition and drive she is well on her was to her "Big Break"!

Nowadays , Bobbi Jo is the proud Owner of her own Modeling Agency

Tell us at model savings a little bit about yourself?

Its a long list , I modeled for 10 years, I'm SAG -AFTRA, MTV MADE
COACH , 10 commercials, 25 music videos, over 100 photo shoots under
my belt.
BA in Media&Communications, Movies, Parody's etc. Im tired of telling
my story its Boring to me. lol. I am the CEO/Founder of

www.Academy4Models.com, a Casting and Coaching Agency created in 2013.

What is your inspiration?
My Mother Georgette is my inspiration. Even though I spent 15 years go
my childhood in Foster Care she instilled a relentless work ethic in
me. My mother is my motivation, I want to let he know that she did not
fail and I am proof of it.

The road to success has it been hard, what are some of the struggles
you had to go through as a model?

I don't feel like my road to success is complete, so I'm sure harder
things are to come. At times it had been challenging but every bit of
it was all worth it.
My struggles of abuse and mistreatment while in care were far more
challenging growing up. I started modeling while in college. Spike Lee
hired me as a production assistant and eventually put me in front of
the Camera making me SAG before SAG-AFTRA. 50 Cent also listened to my
story and treated me as a sister , making me a model for G-Unit Womens
clothing line and placing me in videos. If you check out the Yung Buck
"I know you want me" video you will see 50 cent and Yung Buck pick me
up in the air. That was my 1st video, 50 knew I was nervous and he
believed in me so he literally came up to me and Lifted me into the
air like I was a Queen. I will never forget that day.

What advice would you give to a model that is new to the industry?

Contrary to popular belief, women do not have to compromise their
integrity in order to be successful in the entertainment industry.
In the worst cases, just say "No, thanks". I would refuse an
opportunity if the client or nature of the job wasn't fit to my
standards.
I may have had to wait longer to get to the next level in my career
but eventually I got exactly what I wanted.
At the end of the day ,"You are well worth the wait".

I had NEVER Slept with anyone to get ahead in my CAREER! If Anyone
were to ask any member of G-Unit Records, Spike Lee, along with ALL of
the clients I worked with they will cosign the truth. So when people
TRY to say this , it is unfortunate because they will never be
anywhere near anyone of the Major Moguls I am respected by.  People
don't realize that the Big Wigs in the industry can be in
relationships with almost any beautiful woman, or man that hey desire
so, chasing after one simple model/actress isn't something they waste
their time on.

I would also tell new models to respect the craft. Watch and learn
before you ACT or CALL yourself a professional Model/Actress.
Your card will get pulled by a veteran. Professionals won't take you
seriously, and we take it as disrespect because you are wasting our
precious time.

What are some of the projects you worked on and are currently working on?
I have a TV Show Pilot with M2Media I am currently shooting. I am the
Main Actress in R Kelly's "Cookie" music video. (only speaking role) .
I was the MTV Made Coach of Season 12  Ben McLarry Episode. My resume
covers every genre except high fashion/runway.
Other then that I am casting and booking beautiful models everyday.
Getting them booked the jobs they deserve. Negotiating is my thrive.
(I previously sent my resume and links for you convenience , feel free
to add more credits.)

What inspired you to create your own agency?

I simply got bored of modeling. I knew I was very good at managing ,
since I managed my own career. Everyone would ask me when I would
start my own agency. I thought they were crazy, I also thought
everyone was crazy when they told me I should model. Go Figure! lol
My mentors, saw something in me that was undeniable. I started to
listen to their advise since they were the same people who gave me
previous opportunities. I just waited until I felt qualified for the
job. I realized I was ready to establish a LLC at the age of 27, so i
did.

Since model savings is a blog about modeling and saving money, please
tell us about a time that you had to save your money?

You must ALWAYS save your money if you are modeling, acting, or
whatever you do in life. Particularly in the entertainment industry ,
you never know when you will book your next job. The industry changes
everyday. You must also keep in mind that you can get hurt and be out
of work as well. I was never a really big spender so I always had
money on the side stashed. I did get stressed out when I moved into my
1st, 1 bedroom apartment in Williamsburg. I was paying $2,000 a month
at the age of 23yrs old. Boy was saving, it was a MUST at that point!

Model SAvings: Introducing Alexei Reyes
by Unknown on

Ladies it's not a wonder that I would def
start interviewing male models
but this male model
stood out to me so I decided to an interview with him
for the blog
and this is what he had to say.

How long have you been modeling for?I have been modelling for a year in the fashion industry, before that I was a fitness model for a couple of years.

What is your inspiration?

If you are referring to who my inspiration or role model is within the male model industry I would say that it is David Gandy because my opinion is that this guy broke the mould for the profile of male models.  He created a new male model profile globally that is more masculine, strong and elegant.

Being a male model what are the challenges that you face on everyday spectrum, Do you find that it is easy being a model or difficult?
I would say that the travel I get to do with my job can be very difficult at times, I am away from my family and friends and it can be lonely as I often am travelling on my own. Also daily castings are tough as they often feel like daily exams where I get judged

That being said, honestly I am very fortunate with the job I have, I am very privileged to have visited different counties with different cultures and worked with and learnt from very interesting, talented people. These experiences over the last year have developed me as a person and made me a better model.

What is your greatest accomplishment?
One of my recent accomplishments was doing runway for Miami Fashion Week, I opened the show for men. For me this was a proud moment as it was my first job in America and my first week in Miami.

do you feel that in the modeling industry male models are just for props, I have heard that a lot over the years?
For sure it is very difficult to compare the female model industry with the male model industry, but I think that the male fashion industry is growing as men are paying more attention to how they dress, fashion and their look. You see this reflected in the growing number of male targeted stores, male specific products (e.g. grooming), male fashion magazines etc which you see on the market.

What are some of the projects you have worked and or currently working on?
Over the last year I have worked in Europe (Spain, Italy, Turkey etc) where I worked on editorials, commercials, campaigns and runway. I moved to America this year and my goal now is to repeat similar success in my new country of residence.

What do you do to stay in shape, you are def fit and I am sure my readers would love to know this?
Basically I do lot of cardio, HIIT  system training, mixed with cycling and TRX.

Since Model Savings is a Blog about saving money, Do you have any stories about how you saved money?
When I first arrived in Miami I needed to find accommodation quickly but it looked like it was going to be too expensive for me to find anything as I didn't have a lot of money to cover the deposits and fees I needed. I asked around at work and managed to find someone who subleased their apartment to me whilst they were away on vacation. This was the perfect solution and saved me lots of money.

Do you have any advice for male models that are just starting out?
I would tell them that it is very important to learn everything you can about the industry. For example read up on the client and brand before a casting, find out about photographers and keep up to date with industry news. I would tell them that relationships are key - they need to network and build good relationships. Finally I would tell them the most important thing is to just be themselves!

Where can the readers find you on social media?
Yes I am on Instagram and Twitter - Alexei Reyes.
